Character Analysis


Anne Frank is a 13 year old girl. She lived when Hitler came to power in 1933. Anne and her family went into hiding in 1942. She and her family are jews that were being prosecuted, which lead them to go into hiding. She recieved her diary during this time. Anne is an energetic, outspoken, and doesn't like when people try to walk over her. When Anne noticed how bad the situation was when she was in hiding, she started to panic. Peter was the only boy she would see in years, so she decided to get to know him. She plays around with him alot though he doesn't like it. They have a love/hate relationship. Anne likes Peter's cat. Anne's relationship with the Van Daan's is pretty bad. Anne always talks back to them and lets them know her opinion. The Van Daans believe that she is disrespectful. Mrs.Frank tries to tell Anne to be more like her sister Margot, but Anne doesn't want to. Anne loves her father, Mr.Frank more than her mother and sister. "I love you father. I don't love anyone but you." Anne tells her father.
"We have nothing in common. She doesn't understand me. Whenever I try to explain my views on life to her she asks me if I'm constipated." Anne tells her father the reason she prefers him over her mother. Anne has Nightmares everynight about the green police dragging her out. She screams all night risking the two families and Dussel to get caught.
Anne is interested in almost anything. She is a good person. For hannikka she gave presents to everyone. They were all very thoughtful gifts. To make up for hurting her mom she gave her a paper that said she will do anything her mother asks. This made Mrs.Frank very happy. Anne is involved in the play because she is the one who wrote the diary about everything that had happened when she was in hiding. She believes she must fight things for herself. People think Anne is an unusual girl. Dussel thinks that her apperance and character is wrong. The Van Daans believe that Anne must be more respectful.
