What is Drama?

What do you think about when you hear the word drama? Most people probably think about two people fighting with each other, but more specifically think about two females probably cursing at each other and what not.
What does drama actually mean in literature? Well, I never actually thought that it has two meanings. Drama is theatre. It's made up of a play, scripts and actors. It's made up of elements of plot. A play gives you a perspective on plot, setting, and character. It also gives another perspective of stage sets, period costumes, and a talented author.
Elements of Drama:
Stage Directions are notes that convey information about sound effects, actions, sets, and characters' personalities and ways of speaking.
Dialogue are conversations between characters through which most of plays action takes place.
Set/Stage is where actors perform the play
Most drams contain a plot in which events unfold, rise to a climax, and end with a resolution.
Theme is the central message the playwright conveys to the audience.
Costumes are the clothing the actors wear. They are made up from the time period and characters personalities to suit the play well.
Music/lighting helps set the mood of the scene or helps focus attention to the main actor or character.
